Arriving in Madrid with a group and having to sort out taxis for everyone outside the terminal can turn the start of a trip into chaos: luggage, people wandering off, cars arriving at different times… A minibus or coach transfer solves it: one vehicle, a driver waiting for you and the whole group together from the very first minute.
Here we explain when it pays off, how to book it and what to bear in mind so that everything runs smoothly.
When does a group transfer make sense?
From around 8 to 10 people, a transfer is usually more comfortable, and often cheaper, than several taxis or ride-hailing cars. It is especially useful for:
- Business groups arriving for a conference, trade fair or meeting.
- Wedding guests travelling from abroad who need to get to their hotel.
- Sports teams with bulky equipment.
- Organised trips for associations, schools or groups of friends.
- Tourists arriving together and staying at the same hotel.
From where and to where
The most common routes in Madrid are:
- Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (any terminal) ↔ hotels, trade fair venues or the city centre.
- Train stations such as Atocha or Chamartín ↔ hotels or event venues.
- Hotel ↔ venue for a conference, trade fair or event, even over several days in a row.
También se pueden combinar: recogida en el aeropuerto, parada en el hotel para dejar el equipaje y traslado directo al evento.
Which vehicle to choose
It depends on the number of people and, above all, on the luggage, which is the detail people most often forget:
- Up to 16 people: minibus.
- Up to 30 people: midibus.
- 35 to 59 people: coach, with a large luggage hold.
If the group is travelling with large suitcases, sports or exhibition equipment, let us know when you request a quote. Sometimes it is worth choosing a vehicle with more seats than you need just for the luggage space. You can see the different sizes in our fleet.
Tips for a perfect transfer
- Share your flight or train number. That way the pick-up time can be adjusted if there are delays.
- Agree on a clear meeting point inside the terminal or station, and a contact phone number for the group leader.
- Plan the return times carefully. For departing flights, allow enough time for Madrid traffic and check-in.
- Have the passenger list ready, along with the destination addresses if there are several stops.
- Book in advance if your trip coincides with trade fairs or major events in Madrid, when demand for vehicles is high.
What we need to give you a quote
- Date and time of arrival (and flight or train number, if you have it).
- Pick-up point and destination(s).
- Number of people and type of luggage.
- Whether there is a return trip and on what date.
